He [Chiang Kai-shek] praised Chen Huai as a disciple of revolution who practiced the true meaning of faith, and then brought up Biblical teaching explaining the importance of faith. He said that faith allowed Moses to have the courage to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt, cross the Red Sea and free themselves from the control of the powerful; faith allowed Joshua the courage to enter Canaan, wipe out the enemy and establish the nation. By extension, he said, "Faith can also allow us, like crossing the River Jordan in spirit, to cross the Taiwan Strait, reach the opposite shore, return to the mainland, have victory in battle over the demons, rescue the compatriots on the mainland and reestablish the Republic of China."
The transgender is of particular importance to the challenges towards the categorization of the identities in queer theory. When we speak of the transgender, it includes those who dress in one's (trans)gender and those who opt for sex-reaffirmation, as well as the people who do neither but just likes living the life in a manner unlike their assigned genders.
