Peng Dehuai (1898-1974), top communist general, subsequently politician and politburo member, disgraced after attacking Mao's failed policies in 1959, and died after extensive persecution during the Cultural Revolution
On 4 Jan, 1951, the Chinese People's Volunteer Army and the Korean People's Army entered Seoul. On 8 Jan, the KPA occupied Incheon, and the Chinese and North Korean forces reached the 37th parallel on all fronts. Peng Dehuai ordered the cessation of the attack due to difficulty in supplies, and ended the third campaign.
